The artists of the North Georgia Art Alliance will be presenting new works for the "Summer Colors" exhibit showing at the Colonnade, the Catoosa County Civic Center, through August 30.  The exhibit includes eight of Durinda's oil paintings:  Red Daze, White Daisies, Just Beachy, Tropical Welcome, Poppy Passion I & II, and Poppy Poetry I & II.  Other artists exhibiting are B. J. Wright, Sandra Babb, Carol Hobbs, Sherry Hullander, and Janice Kennedy.  The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular hours as well as during special events. 

Come and support the Arts & Education Council of Chattanooga's fundraiser "Art-a-ma-jig" on Thursday, July 22, at Tanner Hill Gallery.
I have donated an oil painting "Tuscan Door" from my series of Tuscany paintings.  It is a great way to pick up original art and give to the council which sponsors so many projects in the Chattanooga area.

One of my watercolors The Brass Maker's Door will be part of La Dolce Vita, an exhibit sponsored by Il Chiostro.  This exhibit features photography and artwork based on workshops in Italy that Il Chiostro hosts.  This past fall, I led a watercolor sketching workshop in Tuscany.  The door was in a hilltop village near San Fedele where we stayed.  It was such a wonderful experience that I am looking forward to taking more people with me in October 2010.  I hope you will be able to view the show in Soho and come with me to Tuscany!

Art Auction 2010 will include two of my oil paintings:  Poppy Surprise and French Sunflower Field.  This is a biennial event for the museum.  It is very dear to my heart because I direct a summer institute there for Alabama teachers in connection with the Alabama Institute for Education in the Arts.  The museum is such a treasure and the staff there makes our week very enjoyable.  I hope that you will support the museum with attendance and purchases if you are in the Montgomery area.
